Spotlight on 1 Piece Each
I am honored to partner with the nonprofit organization 1 Piece Each for beach cleanups on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. And our first beach cleanup is tomorrow, Saturday, September 16 from 9-12 at Makapu'u Beach Park in Oahu for International Coastal Cleanup Day!

"Established as a 501(c)3 organization in 2017, the mission of 1 Piece Each is to empower and educate our youth through the use of a clear and comprehensive curriculum via our affiliates regionally. The mission is currently being fulfilled through Phase One, which is hosting locations, national, and global cleanups. In the short time of establishing 1 Piece Each, we have already conducted cleanups in three countries [outside the US] including Canada, South Africa and Costa Rica, and in over 10 cities nationally.
The need for programs like 1 Piece Each is imperative in the communities we serve and the world we live in. Everyday Earth is slowly deteriorating from the lack of education and awareness that surrounds our planet's health. There are 5.3 trillion pieces of plastic afloat in the ocean. [If we continue on the same trajectory,] by 2050, 99% of all seabirds will have eaten plastic and there will be more plastic than fish in the oceans. A vast majority of the oceans' pollution comes from activity on land. We are the problem and the solution.
We believe if every person focuses on picking up one piece of trash each, we can make a serious impact on the quality of our future as a whole."
